Have you ever woke up on the wrong side of the bed, and suddenly your whole day becomes a nightmare? We have all gone through a similar situation like the following: your day started with a bad mood, and then you manage to miss the bus. Once you get to work, you get in a fight with your boss. You finished work, and you are just looking forward to getting home. However, once you get home, after another hour of busing, you realize that you left your keys at work. You are enraged, and your thoughts are drowned by anger and desperation.
I am sure we have all had days when everything just goes wrong. But, the opposite can be true as well, when your day just keeps getting better and better. These two situations have something in common, they start with a positive or negative moment like waking up feeling amazing or waking up feeling grumpy, and then your day just keeps getting better and better, or worse and worse. Good things attract good things, and bad things attract bad things. You can rephrase that last sentence just like this: good energy attracts good energy and bad energy attracts bad energy, or positive energy attracts positive energy and negative energy attracts negative energy. Everyone gives off a vibe, which is part of anyone’s first impression that is given when we first meet someone. If you understand how energy works, you will be able to use your energy to your advantage. You will be able to use your energy to develop your skills, to be happier, make better connections, make better first impressions, give better presentations, make more sales, etc. It is a matter of keeping a positive energy to be able to attract more of this energy, and remain positive. After all, if you are being confident about your day and about yourself, chances are you have a better chance to achieve things, or in fact, to do anything that you want. As Napoleon Hill once said, “whatever the mind can conceive, and believe, the mind can achieve,” and this concept can be applied to your everyday goal of keeping a positive mind at all times.
Maintaining high levels of positive energy is no easy task. When you are an entrepreneur, you go through a lot of ups and downs through your career, which makes it hard to maintain a lot of energy. When you are a salesperson, you receive a lot of rejection throughout your career, which again makes it hard to maintain a lot of energy. When you receive bad news, or something does not go right in general, you might feel like your energy is going down. These are just a few examples of why it could be hard to keep high levels of energy. It is also important to note that maintaining high levels of energy is both physically and mentally demanding.
With that said, here are a few way of achieving high levels of positive energy at all times:
Did you know that entrepreneurs make sure the environment where they are going to sleep is perfect? It is by no surprise that getting enough sleep affects your energy. If you do not get enough sleep, you will feel tired the next day, and your energy will be naturally low. Make sure you get enough sleep, and quality sleep. By quality sleep, I mean in a good bed that is not hurting your back, that you are in a good environment, and that you go to sleep with the main purpose to sleep. If you go to bed stressed out, it is going to affect your sleep.
Sleep and food go together. They are basic needs that the human body needs, and it will affect your energy. Make sure you are eating properly, all the necessary meals, as well as healthy food. There are tons of websites and apps that can help you managing your food patterns. Along with food, hydration is very important. The more water you drink, the more hydrated you will be and the higher your energy will be.
When you walk around with your head and shoulders down, you are not reflecting the positive energy that you have in you. Walking with good posture will help you feel more confident, feel more positive, and ultimately help you achieve high levels of positive energy. Also, using more body language in your conversations or presentations will help you communicate this energy. It is just as important to communicate your energy correctly as it is to keep it a high level.
It is again by no surprise that verbal communication will help you connect your energy to others. Remember this: it is not what you say, but how you say it. Although body language will take a major place in how you say things, your tone, speed, and volume will also help you to communicate better.
What you think:
If all you are thinking every day all day is negative things, you will have a negative mindset. What you think will be one of the major keys to achieve good vibes, but it can go either way. The first in having a positive mindset is to change your thinking. Start thinking positive, start believing in yourself, and start rejecting all negative thoughts from your mind. These are decisions, my friends. You can choose this thinking at any time.
Who you surround yourself with:
One of the main factors that affects your thinking is the people around you. You will engage in conversations every day, and subconsciously your thinking will switch little by little to their same level of energy. If your group of friends and family all think negatively, maybe it is time to show them and teach them how to be more positive. In some cases, I have had to change friends simply because their energy was affecting mine, and affecting my goals and objectives. Your environment makes you, and you should surround yourself with people that have the energy that you want.
What you read and watch:
These are things that, again, you are constantly putting into your mind that are affecting your energy. You just have to make sure it is affecting you the right way, meaning in a positive way. Maybe think about your favorite shows, and how they are affecting you. I would recommend reading books that will help you achieve your goals. In my case, a book like “Think and Grow Rich” has helped me develop a better mindset in entrepreneurship and business in general.
All the points mentioned above are not easy to transform into a routine, but I guarantee that if you do transform them into a routine, it become your lifestyle in the near future. Just make sure you create a plan, and you keep your choices according to the mindset and energy that you want to achieve. Doing the things that you like and love could help, like a coffee or tea in the morning. Feeling the nice aroma and taste in my mouth for sure helps keep me sane every morning, and helps me maintain my energetic lifestyle.
